a question for ya

are all of those posts for real? i am having trouble discerning the sarcastic from the serious. maybe it's beacuse the gun nuts have a habit of making themselves into characatures of...well...gun nuts. I am a tad confused, however, when I read the mail at yr site, b/c some of it is sarcastic and the rest is silly. I just want to know what is for real on the site.

I must be a pinko commie fag liberal gun-grabber.

I learned to shoot years ago from a lifelong hunter and NY state trooper, and I've been around plenty of guns. However, time and time again I've seen gun owners defend quite vocally everyone's right to have as many guns as they can carry and then commit shockingly irresponsible actions with their weapons.

A friend's brother, both a policeman and marine, used to leave his unholstered pistol on the stairs at their parent's house when he went up to the room he shared with his brother. I would have to step over a loaded pistol on the stairs to go upstairs to my friend's room. I was 16 at the time and going there to drink beer and smoke a joint with my friends- who knows what could happen? I know another cop who goes drinking (heavily), wearing his gun at all times, and then occasionally takes his friends to an abandoned drainage sump after a night of partying and lets them shoot off a few rounds.

About a year ago, I was at a birthday party for my wife's friend where he was given a new 9mm pistol by his wife. Within minutes a drunken party guest was standing 10 feet away and pointing the gun at me, giggling. Since it was right out of the box, she was sure it wasn't loaded and couldn't understand my angry reaction. I was taught to treat any gun like a loaded gun- how could someone who claimed to be a responsible gun owner allow a drunk to wave a gun in a crowded house?

I have no problem with armed liquored-up rednecks in an orange vest tripping on a tree root and giving themselves a haircut that starts at the shoulderblades. Natural selection- fantastic. I realize the necessity of armed policemen, even if that necessity exists only because guns are so readily available to everyone else. I don't even really mind people who delude themselves into thinking a gun makes them or their family safer despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. But when human nature rears its ugly head and someone behaves irresponsibly, I think my right to live without fear of being shot should be more important than their right to play with a tool designed to put large holes in people. Hell, it shouldn't even be a contest.

To quote some of my favorite rednecks (Lynrd Skynrd), "Handguns are made for killin'... they ain't good or nothin' else."

If you post this to the mailbag, I have to ask you to keep my name and Email anonymous as I work in an industry where anti-gun views (and casual drug use...) are not looked upon kindly. I enjoy your site immensely. I think it's unfortunate that the only way to present an opposing view to the gun lobby is with sarcasm and venom, but as long as the voice of gun ownership in America is dominated by extremist loons like Ted Nugent and Charlton Heston holding a gun over their head screaming 'From my cold dead hands' (they actually do this!), there can't be an intelligent and reasoned discussion about how so many preventable deaths a year keep happening in an allegedly civilized country.

Thanks for your time.

D.

Gentlemen without pistols

Dear Sirs,

The unfortunate people of the UK are forbidden to own a pistol.

The days when a gentleman used to carry a pair of pocket pistols in the tail pockets of his coat are far gone. We now have no defence against footpads, thugs and other assorted villains. They have guns by the bucket load. Just see the collection the Liverpool police found on a raid. MAC 10s, UZIs, CZ75s, I could go on and on. I think the only thing missing was a Scorpion.

Elderly people in many big cities are now afraid to go out after dark for fear of being mugged. I may well be an ex-army man but that was 50 odd years ago and I have to admit I am not as fast as I was then! I am not even allowed to have a swordstick or a knife with a blade over 4 1/2 ins. In fact if I hurt the thug I am liable to be prosecuted for undue force. The cases are there to be read in our daily papers every month.

We have a Socialist government and we know what they are like do we not. No one must have a weapon of any sort in case they decide to have a revolution.

Perhaps, if any British people read this, may I mention that Her Majesty the Queen is the head of the Armed Forces and not the Prime Minister.

Yours faithfully

Bill

You Americans are SO NAIVE

You Americans are SO NAIVE! To think you would just walk from a store to you car, like those pathetic victims of the sniper - NO! You zig-zag, you place yourself behind large, dense objects, such as Trent Lott. And the guy who got wapped leaving a restuaruant just next to his wife - where is your chivalry, you troglodyte? The MAN braves the danger to bring the car up tight to the entrance, mowng over shrubbery if neccessary. He deserved to die.

Americans are killed like rabbits because you don't know how to defend yourself, like those pathetic exam takers in Arizona - imagine taking an exam without a Glock strapped to your ankle! Those fools! As for school violence, I don't recommend allowing children under the age of sixteen to pack, but imagine if little Johnny tries to whipe out his science class, only to have Mr. Miller say, "You wanted a passing grade? I got your pass right here!" Oh, that would be so ... all right. So quit your bitching. You got what you want.

Hey guys listen I really dont understand why you are so against guns. I love them I am a war vet and have served many years in law enforcement. The only problem with guns is that not everyone has one. If everyone did including blacks, women and homosexuals I guarntee you that crime would drop because the average ignorant, worthless person would be afraid to commit such horrible crimes as we have seen in the past. I believe that mabey you and your group should try a different hobby like mabey leaving everyone alone and possibly considering moving to a place that would appreciate you, lets say chuck e cheeze or willy wonkas chocolate factory . sincerley Todd Ray

Responsible Gun Ownership

Hi, Mike.

Thanks for maintaining your site. It's simultaneously amusing and horrifying.

To those of you who appear to have the attitude, "They'll pry my gun from my cold, dead fingers", relax. Those of us who favor sensible gun laws are NOT standing around waiting to take weaponry from you such as revolvers, shotguns, and the like, which can be legitimately used in self-defense and/or hunting for sport. On the other hand, I fail to understand allowing private citizens to own AK47s, Uzis, and the like.

The idea that our government can take away weapons as did the Nazis in Norway(?) Netherlands(?) if guns are registered: do you not realize that our government already has enough information on all of us to be able to do this, absent gun registration? And Mike on this site has pointed out that if you are a member of the NRA, you BET you're already registered and findable. Guess what? Our government has not done this, despite having the capability. I'm not a big fan of our government and I LOATHE the Bush cartel, but regardless of who is in power, confiscation simply isn't happening. Try to overcome paranoia and look at what actually is happening.

What is wrong with registering guns? And requiring that people who purchase them demonstrate that they do not have records of using guns in the past in violent ways? And requiring that they demonstrate some understanding of basic gun safety? Don't you think this might cut down the number of tragic deaths of children each year?

What about having a national ballistic registry where each gun is fired and the ballistics registered in a national database? How many lives would have been saved if the weapons' ballistics had been registered of the snipers who were just arrested in the D.C. area? Not to mention other serial killers. Yes, the original owners of such guns may not be the perps. But at least such a registry would help the police, FBI, etc., to more quickly track guns. And if ballistics change significantly over a gun's lifetime, how can police possibly use ballistics as a reliable source in proving that murders resulted from particular weapons?

Bottom line is, don't make arguments against responsible gun ownership and registration based upon straw men. You have the right to oppose such registration and to state your opinions, but you need to base them on some sort of rational reasoning. And calling people who are for RESPONSIBLE gun ownership "libral pussyes" (sic) does NOTHING to advance your arguments or your cause. Such arguments make you look nuts. Is that what you really want?

Empty gunnysacks

Dear Gunguys:

What a bunch of empty gunnysacks!

Everyone knows what's important about the 2nd A. It means every American has a right to guns against a bad government. One they call a tyranny.

Some empty gunnysacks say they don't see them words in the 2nd A. To which I say of course not. It's called a natural right. Natural rights are there even if they aren't said. Besides, lots of real things people don't see. Do you see real radio waves?

There are some really smart-ass empty gunnysacks. They hit me with the idea that rights need court backing, and can this gun right get it? Of course it can. The Supremes know about natural rights, just wait. Soon as they get a case that fits, they'll make short work of it. "To arms," they will say.

And then what will all you empty gunnysacks say?

Mail from a Brit

Dear gunguys,

You are so wrong. I'm an English from Britland and like you, I was once a caring and sensitive anti-gun type. In 1998 the Brit government banned all guns and we were happy. Now we live in a horrid totalitarian state where the army steals all the tea and scones and the government makes us all dress up in drag.

Help me! Tony Blair is raping my daughter while the rest of the government masturbates and laughs! If only I had a gun with which to protect myself! I was such a fool!

Our only hope is that President Bush drops bombs on us soon.

Points blank

1) I don't care if you have guns. Just don't be an asshole. When someone disagrees with you on, oh, say, seatbelts, don't threaten them with instant death. Don't call them pussy-faggot commies who want to "destroy the country," either. That's dumb. Real, civilized people try to talk out their differences. It's called "civilization." Try it some time. If you don't act like an asshole, you can have all the guns you want. Deal?

2) I dare you to put your tinplate, bullshit little pea-shooters up against the military of the United States - whether they bother to paint insignia on the helicopters or not. Our government has wisely developed weapons that can put you down without even touching you. They are the single most dangerous group of people on the planet. Maybe you should try to make friends? Get involved? Get elected to something? Try using that brain of yours for something other than hating.

3) Explain to me how our government is going to take over our towns and homes so they can install themselves as...the government? Or is that what happened in Florida two years ago?

Mr. Magnum, This e-mail is in response to your post titled: "Idiotic Gun-Toting Conspiracy-Mongers".

Mr. Thompson, It must be a considerable nuisance to surround yourself in a dark place, with no learning or gratitude with a last name related to one of our Country's most revered gun makers.

Knowing full well of your intentions to stir a conversation in contention, I will not, but I will produce a picture of relevance to the issue at hand, for that is why I have taken the time to write on this topic.

From your e-mail, I have gathered a few things pertaining to your knowledge and intellect. You need to acquire both. Failure is not part of my dialog. My self-protection is for no one else's responsibility but my own. Power comes in numbers, and it should be utilized in many ways.

Your e-mail is full of conjecture, and rhetoric that seems to emanate from a source of influence that I am quite familiar with. My house is in order, with an understanding that comes from a higher power that provides not only spiritual protection, but an assurance from an uncertain temporal existence.

I would suggest that you find respect for your elders, and try to be a more Patriotic citizen, trying to do what is right, and be more learned in the ways to defend yourself, family, friends, and neighbors.

Being un-armed in any circumstance is foolish in deed, and right now, people are losing their lives because of it. It is better to live in dangerous freedom, then to be comfortable as a slave, but you will need to grow up before you understand these things.

Without fear, I am Mike W. Smith GUNED.COM(r)

A question of religion

For my family, and those of my friends as well, guns are a "God given right." The Second Amendment was written to provide us with the ability to protect ourselves from those Limey bastards over in England coming into our homes and killing us all. And, let me tell you, I am very happy that my grandfather's personal arsenal, as well as those of countless other NRA members and militia men, have kept those bastards at home eating bangers and mash. Before I discovered that my family had all of these guns, it kept me awake at night and I was a nervous wreck. That is why I live in the South. No Englishmen.

The South, apart from having the "Good Ole Boy" network which helped (s)elect "Dubya", is the home of the Bible Belt. The Bible Belt is a stretch of land wherein you will find churches everywhere, no matter how far out into the woods you go. Most of these churches are Baptist, but there are a few of those Catholics, though they like to live up North with all of the other sinners who are going to hell. But I digress...

Through all of my years of church I learned two important facts: (1)being a Christian means being "Christ-like", and (2)Jesus was a peaceful man. How many times did I hear "turn the other cheek," "love thy neighbor," and, my personal favorite, "God is Love." The question, I think, which is necessary to ask oneself is, "If Jesus were alive today, would he own a gun?" Would Jesus even think the concept of "America" (as seen from the eyes of your typical gun owner) is a good thing? It is just a thought that anyone who considers themselves a Christian should ponder. I leave any gun-wielding Christians out there with a quote from your own holy book (paraphrased):

"And I say to you if a man strikes you on the one cheek, turn to him the other. Love those who hate you, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hurt you. For what does it profit you to hate them who hate you? Do not the unrighteous do this as well? God causes it to rain upon the righteous and the unrighteous alike."

NRA Membership List...Duh

Yo, Mike Magnum,

Couldn't agree with you more that the National Rifle Association is a de facto registry of gun owners. Hell, if I were some deranged wanna-be dictator, kinda like George W Bush, with a self-righteous, Bible-thumpin' Attorney General, mebbe, say, like John Ass-croft, and I took it in my head to confiscate everybody's gun I'd have the Army march on down to the NRA HQ in Alexandia, VA and get me that membership list. Tha's why I ain't a member!!!

Keep up the good work, LaPierre! A few more crazed snipers a-runnin' round the good, ol' USA and Ass-croft'll be itichin' to get his hands on everybody's shootin' iron.

Contradictory arguments?

It surprises me how often people end up arguing against themselves without realizing it. Grammar mistakes aside, many letters written in to this site seem to have contradictions:

-Defending the 2nd amendment while attacking your use of the 1st. (i.e. "I have a right to buy guns and you have NO right to post a differing opinion on your website!")

-Claiming responsible and sane gun ownership alongside threats. (i.e. "I am a perfectly safe and responsible gun owner. I am not crazy or violent. And I'll kill you if you say otherwise.")

-Invoking the 2nd amendment while mistrusting the government. (i.e. "The Constitution of the U.S. gives us the right to collect weapons to defend ourselves for when the FBI comes for us!")

-Faulty logic. (i.e. "If you make owning guns a crime, only criminals will have guns!")

-Nonsensical statements. (Exact quotes: "BTW, YOUR 1st Amendment "Rights" just happen to be guaranteed by the 2nd. Sites like yours won't last long in the New Order." "Lets ban cars, pools, fires, marbles, and dangerous household chemicals too because any one of these cause more deaths than guns do.")

Just thought it was interesting.

Guns, guns and more guns

There is such a collection of material at this website http://www.gunguys.com/gunsanity.htm# I have difficulty deciding whether you like the idea of all presumably law-abiding citizens possessing an arsenal of guns.

I live in a neighbouring country, Canada, which makes it possible for me to look at the situation without any of the historical baggage the average American carries. It puzzles me that a nation that thinks of itself as the most civilized place on earth, possessed of virtues that qualify it to use its considerable power and influence on the world stage, should every year lose regiments of people at the hands of a non inconsiderable number of its gun-toting citizens.

The right to bear arms, a right so treasured by millions of US citizens, seems to be be based on the historical notion that such citizenry may need to resort to arms in order to unseat its own government, as they did, with help from the French Government, in 1776-81. Such an idea is on the face of it lunacy.

One day I hope it dawns on those with the authority to do something about it, to ban the possession of all firearms except sporting rifles, and shotgun, and these all subject of a permit. It would at the same time be a good idea to ban possession of night-scopes, something no real sportsman would use to kill game, but would be most useful in killing people under the cover of night. Obviously law enforcement personnel would need to carry weapons, and certain other occupations strictly regulated whose possession and use of such weapons would be regulated.

Yours is the only country in the world with the possible exception of Afghanistan, that has such an outrageous record for the murder of its citizens by other citizens who a permitted to have the necessary weapons to do their deadly work.

Stan Wilkinson

You guys SUCK out loud!!

Dear Gun guys,

With all due respect, you guys are a bunch of pussy's! In case you haven't heard, we have something called the 2nd Amendment that affirms our RIGHT to keep and bear arms.

Hey, if you want to walk around unarmed, more power to you! If you want to feel helpless, go for it! But why do you insist that we Rams have to emasculate ourselves to join the sheep?

Get a grip guys and get out of the bathhouses, after all, you can always join the Pink Pistols.

Ad hominem attacks

Dear Mike Magnum,

One of your cowardly readers saw it fit to send this email to me - spelling error and all. However, his lack of courage and intestinal fortitude forced him to use an email address to which I couldn't reply. If you're as gutless as your readers, you'll never print this and my reply, which I include below. But then again, I'm always prepared for a pleasant surprise.

So here's my reply to the pusillanimous Mr. Batten:

The meaning of "ad hominem" -- a general category of fallacies in which a claim or argument is rejected on the basis of some irrelevant fact about the author of or the person presenting the claim or argument.

Now, please tell me how a person who uses another's illness as an attack mechanism on their beliefs isn't anything and everything I've described and more. And while you're at it please tell me how a website that uses lies, misinformation and tragedies as attacks on those who hold certain beliefs isn't the repulsive piece of garbage described in my column.

If you don't like my language you're well entitled. But next time you decide to use amateur psychoanalysis about my non-existent "self-loathing" please feel free to contribute to "Mike Magnum's" website. I'm sure he'll be glad to see someone defend his repugnant tactics.

And by the way, learn to spell "Congratulations."

lamer

Hehe, you'all suck. I'll take the bait. Isn't boredome a wonderful thing?

Unfortunately for you you fail to grasp the basic concepts of human existence. A person has the duty to be abl e to protect themselves. It's a basic obligation. Large amounts who is not capable or is not willing to defend themselves are a unfortunate and semi-dangerous aspect of living in a modern and safe enviroment. You may have the illusion that you are safe and that if some asshole was to try make your life hellish in someway (rape , robery, violence, etc) that someone (a cop or jesus or gandi or something) will sudennly appear and make it all perfect for you and bring balance back to your probably useless life. In a world were most people are not allowed to live a decent existance it boggles my mind that people like you are fighting to return to a mid-evil existance in which we have heavily armed police state were the government generally taxes the snot out of people (surfs) and makes everyone generally miserable. After all this effort for the past 200 years, and you want to flush it all down the shitter. WTF? Do you want to turn America into fucking France or something? Everytime a country (or state) places new restrictive gun control laws crime rates go up. Everytime a country (or state) removes restrictive gun control laws crime rates go down.

Never a time in history has it held up that stripping human rights away from the population has had any positive effects.

You know what you guys are in reality? You all are nothing but a bunch of elitists! Fucking lamers. Get that self-rightious stick out of your ass and open you eyes to what is happening around you.

Idiotic Gun-Toting Conspiracy-Mongers

I just wanted to pass along this e-mail I sent to Mike Smith. Guys like this should be stuck in a museum somewhere so that people can observe for themselves how truly blind and ignorant gun fetishists operate.

---

http://guned.com/pages/comment.htm

I'd love to know how it is that a person can defend him/ herself with a gun against a person(s) 150-yards away who is able to kill with one shot. Let's say that the sniper(s) misses and I have a chance to grab the revolver in my car and chase after them. Given that the range of accuracy for a marksman with a pistol is 50 yards, that would mean that I would have to run 100 yards at my assailant before I could get a shot off that might conceivably hit either them or the van being used as their getaway car. Maybe if everyone in the DC metro area had a gun, someone might be lucky enough to spot the sniper(s) and take them out, but what do the police do when every possible suspect they have also owns a gun that could have been used in the shooting?

If I am mentally ill, I can buy any gun I want without fear of being refused a permit. If I shoot someone, I can rest easy in the knowledge that misinformed NRA members will prevent any attempts to link either my gun, bullet, or used shell to a database so that they can tell I committed the crime. There is no limit to the number of pistols, shotguns and rifles I can own, each different and deadly and untrackable. If I am in a room full of people who possess guns, I can still kill with impunity until one of them kills me - sound like something a terrorist would do? Well, guess what, the terrorists do it ALL the time and never fear retribution. Here in the US, where we claim the right to bear arms, crime and accidental death involving guns is higher here than any other place in the world that doesn't have an armed conflict within its borders. We are a nation in a time of peace with over 30,000 deaths (according to ABC's 60 Minutes) from guns EVERY year. Your immediate reply is to ask how many people DIDN'T die as a result of having a gun, but there is NO quantifiable data to support your theory. Your idea of protection is a mexican standoff between two people who have guns - what a wonderful world of fear and loathing you must live in, Cordite-head.

R. Thompson

I think it is great that you do not respond, do not stoop to their level, when you receive and publish the pro-gun, pro-murder, very threatening hate mail that you receive. It gives the world a very clear understanding of exactly the type. It is scary who is armed to the teeth in America. It illuminates the fact that the gun lovers have very little else going for them in the way of humanity and education and social pleasantries.

They often call themselves patriots but they certainly do no service to their country parading their violence and ignorance for the rest of the world to see.

Thanks for your efforts. It is very important work.

Kind regards,

I have seen the light

Gun guys,

You have performed an invaluable service with your web-site. You have helped me realize how misplaced my opinion about "gun nuts" all these years has been.

By printing the e-mails from gunowners, I see how wrong I was to ever use the terms "gun nut" and "gunloon". From here on out, these people will be known as:

GUN IDIOTS

Thanks for your time and your service in helping a poor, misguided wretch like me to see the light.

If you print this, please don't print my name or e-mail. I write political humor and commentary, and I already have a considerable number of right-wingers who would love to look me up as it is. The last thing I need is for one of these types to show up at my home who believe that "Guns are not dangerous, and I'll blow your freaking head off if you say that again." is serious policy debate.

Gun owners of America fights for right of mentally ill to have guns

I just found out from watching last nights 60 minutes that Gun Owners of America is fighting for the right of the delusional mentally ill to own a gun. While I do not think that delusional mentally ill is descriptive of all GOP supporters, I can see why the bill to force reporting, or encourage reporting with funding, or encourage reporting by taking away other funds from states that do not report the names of those involuntarily confined to a mental institutions was killed by the House Controlling GOP Leadership in Committee.

God, what a great Country. Even though I have lost the right to vote via a USSC decision that vote counting was not as important as making Bush President, I have folks in the GOP making sure I can buy a gun whether I am sane or insane.

I have a carry permit, and I do hunt - so it is great to know that when the GOP destruction of the Constitution finally drives me over the edge, after I get the Court to let me out of the funny farm, I'll be able to express myself with a gun.

Guns of course

I shouldn't be writing this. I'm a Canadian gun owner, already a slave under the yolk of the anti-gun lobby. I actually had to pass a test to demonstrate that I could safely store and use a gun before I was allowed to buy one, and I need to show my license to buy ammo. Big deal. Here in Canada, only a few anti-gun extremists are arguing that sane people with the demonstrated ability to safely store and lawfully use a firearm should be disarmed. On the other hand you can't let every wing nut in America own a gun. How free do you feel running from car to car so you won't get shot in the Wal-mart parking lot? There are far worse things than gun control.

stock up on tanks and anti-aircraft missiles

There's something one of these NRA guys is gonna have to explain to me. They keep quoting the following verses about the right of people to form a militia:

Richard Henry Lee: "A militia when properly formed is in fact the people themselves...and include all men capable of bearing arms...To preserve liberty it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms..." -- Additional Letters From the Federal Farmer 53 (1788.)

George Mason: "I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people...to disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them." -- During Virginia's ratification convention, (1788.)

My question is how are these militia's going to defend against F-16's and tanks if the government one day did decide to go to war against it's own people (which is an unbelievable hypothetical). Should our militias also have tanks and F-16's and nuclear missiles?

I think the laws from 1878 are a bit outdated. You guys need to start trusting your own government.

i don't get it

Why is it that people who feel having a killing machine in their house, aka gun nuts, can't tell the difference between "your" and you're"? approximately 90% of the pro-gun letters to this site don't seem to have this simple little grammar point down. I have several potential theories as to why this might be, some based in psychology, some in sociology, one neo-hegelian thingie, but I think I will stick with BECAUSE YOU GUN NUTS ARE ALL FUCKING MORONS.

You gun grabbers are fools

I'm tired of people like you blaming all problems on guns and not the criminals. Lets ban cars, pools, fires, marbles, and dangerous household chemicals too because any one of these cause more deaths than guns do. Dont like guns? Move to england (lower case e is not is not a typo).

Responding

OK. All you undereducated screamers have prompted a response.

I can't believe the number of you shouting "I am a proud & responsible gun owner", then in the same paragraph, threaten to commit some sort of violence. It amazes me that you can't see yourself in the mirror as the very psychopath that generates such anti-gun fear. I grew up in a house with over 40 weapons; my father is an avid gun owner. But even he wouldn't pitch the never ending hissy fit I see here.

I don't consider myself a liberal. In fact, I spent ten years in the U.S. Navy working with some of the most deadly fellows out there (USNI and Seal teams). In response to the soldier who mentioned cowardice, I find it's usually cowards who are first to wave their guns. You want to be a man? Carry a sword! Step up and FACE your target instead of cowering behind your multiple bullet laden magazine. (And for the record "soldier", how many folks have you actually killed? Being in the military for 18 years puts you joining in the mid-1980's. Curious to know which of the many international "skirmishes" you participated in...)

Also, what is the logic in these arguments to defend the constitution while at the same time, spouting fearful anti-government epithets? This is straight up, clinical paranoia, folks. Pick a side...

If you are really afraid of someone robbing you of your freedoms, then ignore the angry, anti-gun, leftists that seem to attract so much of your attention. Turn your eyes to the ever insidious machine that is the bloated American corporate system. While you sit in your farmyards fuming or drudging at your daily toil, a number of "fine, upstanding, American citizens" are fleecing you out of most other rights.

Frankly, I am ashamed to share this country with you... though I realize we all have the right to speak our minds, so many of you speak the barbaric, post-World War II lingo where Nazis and fascists lurk in the shadows, waiting to rape your daughters or put you in prison camps. Pull your heads out of the auditorium where your wrestling, monster trucks and gun shows are being held and look around. Stop accepting the bread and circuses of the rich and the media. Own up to the responsibility you have as citizens.

The cretinous, knuckle dragging, pseudo-patriots are the enemy... not the bright, far-sighted individuals you accuse.
